At a time when France was torn apart and on the brink of collapse, a simple peasant girl heard a voice commanding her to take up the sword and save her people. Her determination, unconditional faith, and unwavering loyalty to God's call led her through battles that changed the course of the Hundred Years' War. Under her command, the besieged city of Orléans was liberated, restoring hope to the French nation.

After Charles VII was triumphantly crowned king, he became passive and careless. Joan, acting on her own, set out to defend Paris. In 1430, she was wounded, captured, and sold to the English. Tried by an inquisitorial court, she was accused of witchcraft. No one spoke in her defense, and no one tried to stop the injustice. Accused of heresy and sorcery, she was burned at the stake on May 30, 1431, at just nineteen years old. She died with the name of Jesus on her lips, firmly believing that her sacrifice was pleasing to God.

Soon after her death, the verdict was annulled, and Joan was later declared a martyr and a saint.
